May the bridges I burn today, light the way to the ones I’ll torch tomorrow. I will not be burdened by the missteps of yesterday but, be fearless with every deliberate step I take that propels me on my quest toward new horizons. I have but one life and I will live it enormously. – L. Scott Harrell
All of us have reminiscence of burnt bridges, sitting in piles of ashes. Whether we lit the match or someone else did… we all have them.
Either way, it’s not the best feeling in the world. We have someone in our life and then at some point the relationship is broken for whatever reason. Once that bridge is burnt, there’s no easy fix, patch it up here and there.
Regardless of who lit the match, we need to be honest with ourselves about what happened. If it was us, we need to learn from that and move forward. If it was someone else, same thing… but just now that sometimes we’ll never figure out why but, we have to move on anyway. There are people in our lives that we have to intentionally burn that bridge to move forward in life. We just have to be honest with ourselves and know which ones need to go.
Life is all about progressing, moving forward, learning from our experiences. It’s never the easiest thing to do but, it’s necessary for survival.
I like the quote
Don’t burn a bridge and then expect me to send a boat.
We can’t be productive, successful or get anywhere trying to cross that rubble. Move on and leave it behind.
