What’s your New Years resolution?
Every year we make a new resolution or perhaps we just copy/paste the same one from the last 10 years.
It’s fun to start off the year with a shiny new resolution. Are we really committed to change or are we just saying it because it’s the cool thing to do?
We’re addicted to telling our friends, family, ourselves and whoever will listen what our resolutions are. It makes us feel good. We chase that high, that rush of hope and enthusiasm for this new year, new start… new adventure. But with all of our good intentions we end up back to where we began.
We never changed. At the end of the year we’re the same person we were the end of the year before and the one before that and so on and so forth.
How do we stop this cycle? Well here are my 5 Easy Steps to Achieving Your Goals!!
Haha, yeah right! If that’s what you’re looking for then it won’t be here. I’m not going to fluff this up with “X-amount of steps to whatever goal”.
If we want to change be realistic. We need to be honest with ourselves and not in an “I’m a shit person” kind of way… let’s give ourselves some constructive criticism. Let’s give ourselves actual action goals and not these vague statements. Let’s also stop telling everyone our plans, dreams and goals and just do them. Let’s actually progress and take real steps towards what we want out of life.
And maybe instead of making New Years resolutions we just make progress…
