It’s a GREAT DAY!
We should all wake up every day with a smile on our faces, let that glorious sunshine kiss our cheeks.
The grass is always green where you’re standing.
Isn’t this just the best outlook to have on life?
Now I’m not going to say that we should all be Negative Noids. Also not saying that being positive about things is bad.
I like to consider myself a realist. I think thats a healthy way to look at life. You see things for what they are, looking through the facade, you can see it, good or bad.
Being overly optimistic can be harmful. Not allowing yourself to admit when things are hard, if you don’t like something, that life will always have challenges. Which I talked about in this post Accepting Life Will ALWAYS Have Challenges. You’re not allowing yourself to come up with real solutions to the real shit going on in life. Masking it with rainbows and unicorns won’t make that body in the basement stink less. You’ve got to get real and admit you’ve got a real issue on your hands and you need a real solution to get rid of that body in the basement… that by this time the neighbors are starting to smell and glance out their windows a little more frequently than they normally do.
Optimism won’t save the world or solve your dead body in the basement issue. Being honest with yourself and coming up with real solutions is the only thing that will solve anything. Solving the problem, accomplishing that challenge and moving forward is what will get you through life with any small level of sanity.
We can’t all just laugh, joke and race our unicorns across the rainbow to the leprechaun holding a pot of gold for the winner and gold lollipops for the participants, because we’re all winners in life. Because the real scenario here is that we’re really just skipping around with stick horses between our legs, crazy laughing and screaming about some leprechaun… we look like losers.
