Over there! He’s an expert… that lady there… expert! Shit… they’re everywhere!
It’s some sort of Expert Apocalypse!
I recently saw a blogger selling a Starting a Business Course for the low price of $375.00! They claim they are an expert and successful business owner and that they’ve learned all they’ll ever need to know in just one year of being in business.
We see this kind of stuff literally everywhere. Everyone seems to exclaim they are an expert. Now, this is the issue I have… well, a few issues.
One year seems like a long time, until we look back over that year. We get a lot of knowledge from failures and accomplishments during throughout a year, but not enough (in my opinion) to achieve expert level status. They haven’t even had enough time to fail… let alone claim success.
Anyone who claims they have enough knowledge and success like that is full of shit (in my opinion). They’ve stopped listening, learning and growing because they believe they’re at the top already. They’ll never reach true success because they’ve closed themselves off and claimed this hollow, ego filled, self importance form of success. Hate to shove the self placed pedestal out from under them, but that’s a clear sign of mediocrity.
These self proclaimed experts who are trying to sell some magic course to starting a successful business are flat out arrogant. When the main income they make is from selling their courses and not from their actual successful business… seems a bit snakey to me. And serisously… there’s SO much information out there from reputable people that you can purchase or even find for free!
If you really want to be a success… you can buy my course 7 Easy Steps to be Successful for the low low price of $365.95! (Sarcasm… that link will just take you to another rant).
Where’s the proof? Now, I’m not saying there are no experts out there because there are successful people who have really good advice on achieving your goals and getting started… but there’s a key word in there… SUCCESSFUL! Legitimately successful! These other people spouting off that they’re successful are just inflating their own egos with the mediocre, self important views of themselves. They have zero evidence to support their claims of success.
Let’s be careful who we choose to listen and take advice from. Look a little deeper and see if these “experts” have the lives to back up their claims. If they don’t, label them as the snakes they are and find someone with actual value.
